The Workforce Education and Community Services Department offers a variety of credit and non-credit courses, seminars, and workshops designed to fit your interests and/or needs.  We take pride in the friendly customer service we provide along with the quality instruction offered in a relaxed classroom atmosphere.  We handpick our instructors, making our selections based upon their teaching abilities and for their expertise in the subject matter. We provide training for emergency personnel, classes and activities for senior citizens, and a variety of events for the public.

Computer Courses

The Workforce Education & Community Services Division offers numerous computer courses.  Most of the courses are offered in three-hour blocks of time, one night (or one afternoon) a week for five weeks.  The following is a list of potential class offerings.

Fire Science/Fire School

Labette Community College hosts an annual four-day fire school held each May or June (see Calendar of Events) for firefighters throughout Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The Kansas State Fire Fighters Association, Kansas Fire and Rescue Training Institute (KU), and the State Fire Marshall's Office, as well as other agencies, provide the instructors.

Course offerings are updated each year. LCC's Fire Science Advisory Board meets annually to make the selections.
