Radiography Admission Criteria
Students interested in the Radiologic Technology Program are admitted to Labette Community College on the same basis as other students, but admission to the college does not ensure admission into the Radiologic Technology Program. Students are selected for the Radiologic Technology Program based on the following factors:
- Previous academic record, high school and/or college, GPA and ACT scores.
- TEAS Admission Assessment Exam Scores
- Two personal references, one of which should be from a former instructor.
- Interview with clinical instructor at one of the clinical education settings.
- General education courses that satisfy Radiologic Technology curriculum should be satisfied.
- Submission of Background Check (For clinical placement only)
- Interview for applicants with satisfactory scores in the above criteria.
- Satisfactory physical evaluation, verified by a physician (including immunization records).
- Signing the Conditions of Acceptance Form.
Radiography Application Procedures
All applications must be completed and received by the deadline found in the Application packet.

Open and print the Application Packet or contact the Tracey Elliott, Health Science Programs' Assistant, at (620) 820-1157 or toll free at 1-888-LABETTE (522-3883) ext. 1157 and request an Application Packet and Program Information by February 28th. |

Step 2: |
After reviewing the information, if you are interested in making an appointment to visit our campus, tour the brand new Sonny and Sophia Zetmeir Health Science Building,and discuss program admission procedures, please contact Tracey Elliott, Health Science Programs’ Assistant. |

Step 3: |
The applicant should request that a high school transcript (with ACT scores), as well as college transcripts (from all colleges previously attended, unless LCC already has your current transcripts or all classes have been taken at LCC), be sent to the attention of : Director of Radiography These must be official transcripts--sent in a sealed envelope from the school. Please note that the following prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the Spring semester before the program begins:

Step 4: |
Set up a visit through the Health Science Programs' Assistant to observe one of our clinical education center affiliates by prior to the deadline. |

Step 5: |
To take the TEAS exam, create an account with www.atitesting.com and contact Tracey Elliott (620-820-1157 or traceye@labette.edu) to register for a test date. Test dates can be found in the application packet. Please note that no refunds are available for the TEAS test. The test must be completed by the application deadline. |

The following items must be submitted from the Application packet by the application deadline to be considered for program admission.

Those applications whose scores are satisfactory from the above criteria will be invited for an interview. These will be scheduled two to three weeks after the application deadline. The selection process takes place in April. All program applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by May 1st. Classes begin in June.
If accepted into the Radiography Program, a history of immunizations, a receipt/record of updated shots, a physical, and a copy of health insurance verification will be required.
The student must take and pass a course in CPR certification for Health Care Professionals or submit a copy of their current CPR for Health Care Professionals card.
To complete the application for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination, the question
"Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor?" Yes___ No___
must be asked and answered. Falsification of information is grounds for dismissal from the program. (Note: A conviction of, or plea of guilty to, or a plea of nolo contendere to an offense constitutes a conviction for A.R.R.T. purposes.)
If you answered "yes" provide explanation and official documentation. If, at any time during your attendance in the Program, the answer changes to "yes", it is your responsibility to inform the Program Director.
