Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II Application (HEERF II)


Purpose

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) has been created to assist students with covering any component of the student’s cost of attendance (COA); or emergency costs that arise due to Coronavirus, such as but not limited to tuition, food, housing, health care, mental health care, or child care. Labette Community College is required to prioritize grants to students demonstrating exceptional financial need.

Eligible students

US Citizen or an Eligible Non-Citizen and Currently Enrolled at Labette Community College.
At this time DACA and International Student are not eligible for HEERF II funds under 8 USC 1611(a) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (1996 welfare reform Law)

Frequency of Payments

One-time payments will be made to the students that qualify. Payment will be made every two weeks.  Tentative dates:

  • April 15, 2021 - $7,850 Disbursed to 10 students
  • April 29, 2021 - $29,825 Disbursed to 43 students
  • May 12, 2021
  • May 26, 2021
  • June 9, 2021
  • June 23, 2021
  • July 14, 2021
  • July 28, 2021

Funds will continue to be disbursed until all funds have been depleted.  Grants will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.  Labette Community College can make adjustments to this plan as seen needed to benefit students that have been impacted by the disruptions of campus operations do to coronavirus.

How HEERF Grants will be calculated based on the following information
