Labette Community College's Wrestling Team Off to Nationals After Stellar Regional Performance

Parsons, KS – Labette Community College (LCC) proudly announces its wrestling team's stellar performance at the recent regional championships, clinching first place and sending all ten wrestlers to the National Wrestling Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

At last weekend's Regional Championships, LCC's wrestling team showcased unparalleled skill and dedication, securing victories and demonstrating their commitment to excellence. Head Wrestling Coach Jeff Vesta remarked on the team's performance: "Our wrestlers have worked tirelessly all season, and their hard work and dedication have paid off with this extraordinary accomplishment."

With Kolton Misener, Corban Zugelder, Jazen Brown, Jamarius Koshko, Davion King, Matt Smith, Garrett Davis, Corey Chilcoat, Matthew Marcum, and Gabe Kant all qualifying for Nationals, the LCC wrestling team is poised to compete against the nation's best.

Coach Vesta expressed his pride in the team's achievements, "This is a fantastic achievement for our program, and we are incredibly proud of each and every wrestler for their dedication and determination."

174-pound wrestler Garrett Davis shared his excitement about the opportunity to compete at Nationals, "This is my second year going to the national tournament. It's more exciting this year as the team comes off as district champions. I'm excited for us to bring home some medals and hopefully a team trophy for the first time in 11 years!"
