LCC’s Head Wrestling Coach, Jeff Vesta, Named KJCCC Region 6 Coach of the Year

Parsons, K.S. – Labette Community College (LCC) is thrilled to announce that Head Wrestling Coach Jeff Vesta has been honored as the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Region 6 Coach of the Year for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the sport.

Coach Vesta has played an integral role in the LCC Wrestling program for eight years, serving six years as Head Coach. Under his guidance, this year's team achieved remarkable success, boasting a 12-7 record and finishing the season ranked 14th in the nation. Their dominant regional performance, where they secured the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) South Central District title by scoring 159.5 points, showcased the team's talent and determination.

Reflecting on the achievement, Coach Vesta shared, "I am truly honored and humbled to receive this recognition from the KJCCC. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our wrestlers and coaching staff. We have a fantastic team at LCC, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with them."

Coach Vesta's wrestling career, which began in Manhattan, KS, saw him earn a 6A High School State Championship and become a 3x finalist. He also achieved 6x Fargo All-American status, excelling in Freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines.

Aaron Keal, LCC Athletic Director, remarked, "Coach Vesta's leadership and dedication have been instrumental in the success of our wrestling program. His commitment to the development of our student-athletes on and off the mat is commendable, and we are proud to have him as part of the LCC family."
