Parsons, KS— Labette Community College (LCC) public relations student, Jackson Fugate is partnering with Parsons High School (PHS) Honor Flight to promote their upcoming biscuits and gravy breakfast. Saturday, April 20, from 7 to 10 a.m. the community is invited to the Parsons High School cafeteria, to enjoy breakfast and help raise money for the Honor Flight trip. Each plate is $5 and other cash donations are also welcome. Proceeds will benefit the 2024 Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. in May.

“As a former Honor Flight guardian, I can personally attest to the impact these trips have on not only the veterans but also the high school guardians,” said Fugate, a Sophomore Communication Major at LCC “These trips create lifelong bonds and provide many valuable lessons.”

The monthly biscuits and gravy breakfast is held on the third Saturday of each month during the school year. All proceeds from the event directly support the PHS Honor Flight. This event not only acts as a fundraiser for the trip but also provides the opportunity to connect and catch up with other community members.

Honor Flight is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is “To celebrate America’s veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials.” PHS Honor Flight pairs high school student guardians with veterans and sends them on a 3-day, 2-night trip to the nation’s capital at no cost to the veteran.
