LCC Hosts 34th Annual High School Art Competition & Exhibit

Labette Community College (LCC) will host the 34th Annual High School Art Competition and exhibit on Thursday, April 4. The exhibition will display the artwork of over 150 students from 10 area high schools. The event is sponsored cooperatively by the LCC Fine Art and Graphic Design departments.
Graphic Design Instructor, Melissa Kipp, believes it is important to celebrate young artists. "We are very excited to serve as host for this annual event, and to provide the opportunity for the community to see the creativity and talent from area high school students," states Kipp.
The public is invited to attend to view the artwork 10 a.m.-noon inside LCC’s Zetmeir Family Athletic Complex.
Awards will be presented to the top artists in the following categories: Painting, Drawing, Graphic Design/Printmaking, Mixed Media, Sculpture/Ceramics, Photography, Crafts and Best of Show.
