COACH JEFF VESTA HONORED WITH 2024 NJCAA MEN'S WRESTLING NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD

[Parsons, KS] - Coach Jeff Vesta, head coach of the Labette Community College (LCC) men's wrestling team, was recently recognized with the prestigious 2024 NJCAA Men's National Coach of the Year Award at the National Wrestling Championships held in Council Bluffs, Iowa this past weekend.
Coach Vesta's exceptional leadership and coaching abilities have made an indelible mark on the collegiate wrestling program at LCC. He has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, consistently driving his team to success on and off the mat.
His remarkable coaching philosophy has cultivated a culture of excellence within the program, instilling in his athletes a relentless pursuit of success. He attributes his success to his coaching staff and student-athletes.
“Being recognized as the coach of the year was a great honor, and I am very proud of it," commented Coach Vesta. “It truly takes the whole team and a lot of work to get an award such as this. I am thankful for my coaching staff and all the student-athletes who believed in me and trusted the process throughout the season.”
Throughout the 2024 wrestling season, Coach Vesta's leadership shone brightly as he guided his team through numerous challenges and triumphs. His unwavering commitment to the sport and student athletes' personal and athletic development has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and athletes.
The Cardinal Wrestling team had a successful weekend and added four All-Americans to the program.
133: Corban Zugelder (7th), 141: Jazen Brown (7th), 174: Garrett Davis (8th), and 197: Matthew Marcum (6th).
The NJCAA Men's National Coach of the Year Award is a testament to Coach Vesta's outstanding achievements and contributions to wrestling. His dedication to the LCC wrestling program and his athletes has set an exemplary standard for coaching excellence.
