Lindi Forbes, Executive Director of the Labette Community College Foundation & Alumni Association, and Gaye Evans, Foundation Associate, recently participated in the 2025 Kansas Advancement Professionals (KAP) Annual Conference held in Overland Park, Kansas.
The conference, hosted by Johnson County Community College, brought together advancement professionals from across the state for two full days of networking, collaboration, and educational sessions focused on fundraising, donor engagement, alumni relations, and strategic communication. Attendees heard from a variety of speakers including advancement experts from KU Endowment, Metropolitan Community College, and WSU Tech Foundation, among others.
Topics ranged from creative donor engagement and planned giving to the use of artificial intelligence in advancement and aligning leadership with fundraising goals. Sessions also addressed scholarship processes, social media best practices, and the importance of faculty and staff giving campaigns.
“This conference was an incredible opportunity to connect with peers from other institutions, gain new insights, and return with fresh ideas to strengthen our efforts at Labette,” said Forbes. “Gaye and I are excited to implement what we learned as we continue working to support student success through scholarships, alumni engagement, and donor relations.”
The conference also included a campus tour, professional exhibits, and time for networking and idea-sharing among attendees.
