Cardinal Connect Business Showcase

Area businesses are cordially invited to Labette Community College’s semi-annual “Cardinal Connect” Business Showcase Event Sept. 30.

The event is designed to help students better understand and engage with the local business community. Last fall the college’s event welcomed around 20 Parsons-area businesses. It was the second-highest attended in the history of the event, and the college would welcome more business participation in this year’s fall event.

This showcase offers businesses a prime opportunity to connect with LCC students and cultivate relationships with future talent. It allows businesses to highlight their company’s culture and opportunities, showing students why their business is the perfect launchpad for students’ careers or entrepreneurial goals.

Engaging with this demographic provides businesses a direct route to early career recruitment, as well as peer-to-peer marketing, and localized community growth through.

There is no fee to participate. Each business will be furnished with a table and two chairs for displaying promotional materials and giveaways. These may include items such as food or beverage samples, branded merchandise, candy, coupons, or other materials that represent the business. Employers are also encouraged to use this opportunity for recruiting purposes.

The event will be held outdoors in the breezeway of the LCC Main Campus. Businesses may bring an overhead canopy for shade if desired. Should weather require, the event will be relocated indoors to the Cardinal Event Center. A designated parking area will be available just north of the Student Union off 13th Street, behind the LCC Event Center, for unloading and parking. Space is limited, so additional parking may be necessary. Student volunteers will be on hand to assist with setup and breakdown.

The event is open to students from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing them the opportunity to visit with businesses before and after classes.
