Trouble with word problems?  Check out these videos.

A few quick tips. 

  1. Read the problem at least twice before starting it.
  2. When you are reading the problem the second time write down the key pieces of information.
  3. If possible, organize the information in a table – it may help you identify relationships.
  4. Build your equation and solve.
  5. Always check your answer against the original problem to see if it makes sense.  Also be sure that you fully answered the question.
