LCC Hosts Spring Cancer Awareness Night During Home Basketball Games

Parsons, KS — Labette Community College (LCC) hosted its Spring Cancer Awareness Night on Tuesday, February 11, during the LCC Men’s and Women’s basketball games, uniting the campus and community in support of cancer awareness and fundraising efforts.

The evening featured a gift basket raffle, luminaria decorating, and fresh popped popcorn for those who donated. All proceeds from the event benefited Relay For Life. Students and employees also wore t-shirts representing various cancer ribbon colors, in support.
Combined with LCC’s Fall Cancer Awareness Night, students, employees, and community members raised a total of $845.82 for Relay For Life.

Parsons Relay For Life Ambassador and former LCC Human Resources Director Janice Every praised the college and community’s involvement.

“When people come together for a cause like this, it truly makes a difference,” said Every. “The support shown by LCC helps bring hope to families affected by cancer.”

LCC thanks everyone who participated and supported both Cancer Awareness events.
