These Text Messaging Terms and Conditions apply to text messages sent by or on behalf of Labette Community College (“LCC” or “the College”). By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive text messages from the College, you agree to these terms.
Labette Community College Text Messaging Program
Labette Community College uses text messaging to communicate with students, prospective students, applicants, and others who have agreed to receive messages from the College.
Depending on the College program or service for which you have opted in, messages may include information about:
- Admissions and application processes;
- Enrollment and registration;
- Financial aid and student accounts;
- Appointments and reminders;
- Academic and student support services;
- College deadlines and required actions;
- Campus programs, services, events, and opportunities; and
- Other College-related information relevant to the service or program for which you provided your mobile number.
The types of messages you receive will depend on your relationship with the College and the messaging program or service for which you have provided consent.
Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on the College program or service and your interactions with the College.
Message and data rates may apply. Your wireless carrier may charge you for sending or receiving text messages according to the terms of your mobile service plan. Labette Community College does not charge a separate fee for participation in its text messaging programs.
For questions regarding your text or data plan, contact your wireless carrier.
Opting Out
You may cancel your participation in an applicable College text messaging program at any time by replying STOP to a message from that program.
After you send STOP, you may receive a text message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive text messages through that messaging program unless you subsequently opt in again.
Other standard opt-out keywords supported by the messaging service may also be recognized.
Opting out of text messages does not prevent Labette Community College from contacting you through other appropriate communication methods, including email, telephone, mail, College information systems, or other channels.
If you later wish to resume receiving text messages, you may opt in again using an available College sign-up method.

For assistance with a College text messaging program, reply HELP to the number from which you received the message.

Delivery of Messages
Delivery of text messages is subject to effective transmission by your wireless carrier and other service providers. Message delivery may be delayed or unsuccessful because of circumstances outside the College’s control, including network availability, wireless service interruptions, device settings, or other technical conditions.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Labette Community College does not guarantee that a text message will be received within a particular period of time. When a message concerns an important deadline or required action, individuals remain responsible for reviewing official College communications and information available through applicable College systems.
Mobile Number Changes
You are responsible for providing an accurate mobile phone number. If your mobile number changes or is reassigned, you should update your contact information with the College and opt out of messages sent to a number you no longer use when possible.
Privacy
Labette Community College respects the privacy of individuals who participate in its text messaging programs.
Mobile phone numbers, text messaging opt-in information, and consent records will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Labette Community College may update these Text Messaging Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in College services, technology, legal requirements, or messaging practices.
The date of the most recent revision will appear at the top of this page. The version in effect at the time messages are sent will govern participation in the applicable College text messaging program.
