Director of Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations is responsible for managing and coordinating all public relations efforts of the college, including publications, news releases, media relations, promotional advertising, special public events, social media management, and assistance with website management. The director will implement and ensure appropriate branding of the institution through all graphic design services. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to attend events.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license, proficiency in public speaking, written and oral communication skills, and advanced knowledge in journalism, graphic design, and communications. The candidate should have 3 years of full-time management or professional-level experience in public relations or an occupation where the job functions, skills, and knowledge were demonstrated regularly. Previous experience as a PR professional may be substituted for the education requirement.

Four-day work week, Monday to Thursday. Benefits include vacation, sick leave, paid LCC tuition for employees and dependents, Kansas Public Employment Retirement System (KPERS), KPERS 457, 403B with the matching plan, and the Kansas state plan of insurance for medical, dental, and vision. Supplemental insurance is also offered.

The salary is based on experience and is to begin within the range of $47,343 to $59,137 annually. This is a full-time, exempt position. The position remains open until filled. Application review will begin 05/26/2026.
