Director of Physical Therapist Assistant Program


The Director of Physical Therapist Assistant Program shall be responsible to the Dean of CTE & Workforce for the overall administration of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. This includes curriculum development and revision, maintenance of accreditation status, recruitment and selection of students, faculty, and staff, and evaluation of students, faculty, and staff in the department. The director shall see that the objectives of the curriculum are met and the program is routinely evaluated for effectiveness. This position is contingent on the approval of the program and accreditation.

Required Qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited physical therapist or physical therapy assistant professional program. Earned a master’s degree in physical therapy (PT), education, clinical specialty or other related fields of study. Be licensed or eligible for licensure as a PT or physical therapist assistant (PTA) in the state of Kansas. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a licensed PT or PTA with a minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications include prior teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program or administrative experience in clinical practice. Earned status as an APTA credentialed clinical instructor.

Flexible work schedule with the main working hours to be a 4-day work week Monday to Thursday. The salary range is based on education and experience to begin at $62,700 annually. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The position remains open until filled. Application review will begin September 9, 2024.
