LCC Foundation Receives Union Pacific Grant

Parsons, KS- The Labette Community College Foundation is the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the Union Pacific Foundation. The grant is the newest donation to LCC Foundation’s Athletic and Academic Complex capital campaign.

Union Pacific has a long-standing commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities they serve and where their employees live and work. Their vision is that Union Pacific employees will take pride in their company's civic leadership and that customers and shareholders will appreciate and recognize Union Pacific as an excellent corporate citizen.

"This generous gift from the Union Pacific Foundation is an investment in the future of our student-athletes and the fitness and well-being of every student on our campus," said Lindi Forbes, LCC Foundation Executive Director.

“The LCC Foundation is nearing the successful completion of our Athletic and Academic Complex capital campaign,” Forbes said. “We are seeking to raise $5,729,900 in order to meet the needs of our students. We’ve raised $5,086,990 to date.”

This generous support from the Union Pacific Foundation will also help the LCC Foundation meet a $500,000 Mabee Challenge Grant requirement. LCC must raise $642,910 by January 14, 2021 to earn the $500,000 grant from the Mabee Foundation of Midland, TX and complete the fundraising goal.
