LCC Honor Society Earns Highest Award at International Convention

Parsons, KS- The Tau Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society attended the International Convention (Catalyst) and Region Convention on April 8-10.  The conventions were held with small local groups and virtually. Phi Theta Kappa is the national honor society of the two year college.

LCC Chapter, Tau Theta, was named the Most Outstanding Chapter internationally. This prestigious award goes to one chapter out of 1,285 chapters internationally. With that, the LCC chapter is also the Most Outstanding Chapter in the Kansas/Nebraska Region.  

“LCC has a group of dedicated and motivated officers and members. Their perseverance was exemplified during the awards ceremony at International Convention,” said LCC PTK Advisor Tammy Fuentez. “Earning the Most Distinguished Chapter award would be the equivalent to an athletic team winning a national championship!”

Achievement in Literature – Research Award, Regionals – 2nd Place Briaunna Nance, 3rdPlace Fiona Bartelli, 4th Place Katrina Egermeier

Fiona Bartelli and Ashley Horton were elected as Regional Officers for the Kansas/Nebraska Region.
