LCC Foundation Seeks Nominations for Distinguished Alumni and Cardinal Citation Awards

The Labette Community College Foundation is seeking nominations for two prestigious awards presented annually. The Foundation is seeking nominations for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards and the 2022 Cardinal Citation Award. 

The Distinguished Alumni Award was developed by the Labette Community College Foundation and Alumni Association Board to honor alumni of LCC that have proved to be successful individuals within their communities, careers, and families. The recipients for 2022 will be honored at a luncheon on May 13th, 2022, and at commencement that evening. An individual may nominate more than one person and forms may be picked up in the Alumni office inside the Cardinal Event Center, 1306 Main, on the Parsons campus or can be found online at www.labette.edu/foundation/distinguished-alumni.

Nominations must be turned in by January 31, 2022. Award Criteria includes:

  • Must have attended Labette Community College for one year (2 semesters).
  • Nominations may come from faculty, staff, alumni or community at-large.
  • Selection shall be made by the President of the College.
  • Nominees not selected may be reconsidered the following year.
  • Must be present to accept the award at a luncheon given in their honor the day of commencement.
  • Up to four awards may be presented annually.

The Cardinal Citation award is the most prestigious annual award presented to an individual jointly by the college and the LCC Alumni Association at Commencement in May. An individual may nominate more than one person and forms may be picked up in the Alumni office inside the Cardinal Event Center, or can be found online at www.labette.edu/foundation/cardinal-citation.

Nominations must be turned in by February 10, 2022 for consideration for this year. Nominees must have an association with the college but do not have to be a graduate nor have attended the college. The nominee must be living and have made outstanding contributions to their profession, community, state, or country during a lifetime of service.
