LCC Seeks Individual for Cardinal Mascot

Parsons, KS- Labette Community College (LCC) is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as the Cardinal Mascot for the Public Relations department, and Spirit Squad during the 2023-2024 school year. This position is open to incoming first-year students and/or any student interested in being a mascot. The selected student mascot will receive a scholarship to cover tuition up to 16 hours and a $300 book scholarship per semester. At the end of each semester the individual will be evaluated, on performance to maintain involvement and receive a stipend up to $250.

The recipient must be a full-time student and in good academic standing with a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average. Interested individuals may go to www.labette.edu/athletics/mascot

The mascot will be making several public and athletic appearances throughout the year! The duties of the mascot include public appearances, festival events, community events, athletic appearances, and requests as needed.

“Students with or without acting experience or previous mascot background are welcome to apply, “stated Janice Reese, LCC Director of Public Relations. “We are looking for someone who enjoys having fun, and willing to make public appearances.  LCC is celebrating one hundred years and the plan is for Chris the Cardinal to make appearances at celebration events throughout the year. The Cardinal is a favorite among the young and the adult audiences, and we hope to find a student who enjoys bringing smiles to all fans.”
