As part of Labette Community College's (LCC) 100-Year Celebration, the LCC Foundation and Alumni Association is establishing a new tradition to honor families with strong ties to the institution over multiple generations. The LCC Alumni Association will present the inaugural “Cardinal Generational Family” award to the Alice and Corky Beachner Family. They will be recognized at halftime of the Men's Home Basketball Game on Wednesday, January 17.

According to Lindi Forbes, Executive Director of the LCC Foundation and Alumni Association, family connections have played a significant role in the success of LCC and its students. The Beachner family has passed on Cardinal Pride from generation to generation, and this award is a way to recognize and celebrate their contributions.

Alice Beachner, the family's matriarch, along with her late husband Corky, has four daughters, one son, and many grandchildren who have connections to LCC as students, graduates, faculty members, or outstanding supporters. The Beachner family has shown their support by serving on various committees, such as the 100-Year Celebration Committee and the "Pathways to the Future Steering Committee." They have also had family members serving on the nursing faculty for many years.

The Beachner Family has created a legacy that spanned multiple generations, and LCC is proud to honor them with this award.
