LCC October Board Report
October 14, 2015 |
The Labette Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2015, 5:30 p.m. in the Conference Room on the second floor of the Student Union. The following is a summary of the meeting.
Trustee McReynolds and Trustee Howerter were absent from the meeting.
The Board:
Approved the revised Board agenda with one addition, introduction of new employee after Item III.;
Approved the September 10, 2015 meeting minutes as presented;
Approved the September 17, 2015 special meeting minutes as presented;
Dr. Knox introduced Crystal Garcia, Nurse Educator;
Bluffstone Update: None
Faculty Senate Report: None
Megan Thompson gave short report for SGA;
Heard an Administrative Report on comparison of expenditures to the budget from Leanna Doherty;
Vice-President Doherty informed the board about the purchase of a refurbished portable ultrasound machine from Ultra-Solutions for approximately $13,000. Perkins funds will be used for this purchase.
Dr. Knox gave a short report;
Approved putting the board packet on the website;
Approved the bid from Cornerstone Building Service to repair the roof at Cherokee Center for a total cost of $33,795.41 for labor and materials.
Approved the addendum to the student housing development agreement;
Dr. Mark Watkins reviewed the 2015 Report of Student Learning;
Approved the discontinuance of Network Administration AAS Degree/Certificates, Financial Services AAS Degree, and AA Degree in Music;
Approved Policy 3.35 Program Review;
Approved the payment of bills;
Public Comment: Glen Foss expressed appreciation for the Trustees voting to have the board packet on the website.
Bethany Kendrick invited everyone to attend the Veteran’s Day parade at 10am on Wednesday, November 11th.
