LCC PTK Earns High Honors at Region Convention

Parsons, KS-The Labette Community College Tau Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa traveled to Manhattan, Kansas March 4-6th for the Kansas-Nebraska Region Convention.
LCC had 9 students and 1 advisor attend the convention to hear speakers on the Honors Study Topic and on Strengths Quest. Devin Henderson, a regular at the Kansas City Comedy Improv Club, also performed. Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, the new CEO of Phi Theta Kappa, and Yanik Etan, the International President, attended the convention.

Megan Thompson was elected as the Vice President of Kansas for the Kansas-Nebraska Region.
In April, we will travel to Washington D.C. for International Convention. Sydney Pemberton will be running for International Vice President of Division III. In addition, Tammy Fuentez will be serving as a facilitator for the pre-conference Honors Academy and as a presenter for an educational forum on officer training.
Phi Theta Kappa is an invitation-only international honor society for two-year colleges. Students must have a 3.25 or better GPA to be considered.
