She credits her parents as factors in her success: “My parents, Robert and Melissa Cassel, have been very supportive in my success. Another group I consider family are my church family at Lighthouse Temple Ministries in Pittsburg. All of those mentioned have pressed through personal hard times and are a huge inspiration to me.”
Other relationships essential to her success as a student have been her professor and academic advisor Cathy Kibler and student veteran advisor Sara Comer. “The LCC faculty, staff, and tutors take great care of me. They are so personable and attentive and I received all the academic support I needed to build a great foundation.”
Minor acknowledges her SSS participation, saying, “Student Support Services has been an integral part to receiving grants, scholarships and other helpful resources to help me become successful.”
Cassel adds, “I have really enjoyed my time at Labette Community College and will always be a Cardinal at heart.”
