LCC Hosts Annual Fire School

The Workforce Education Department at Labette Community College is hosting the annual Fire School, May 30-June 1, 2019. LCC has provided the continued education for full-time and volunteer fire fighters for over thirty years. Training sessions are led by representatives from area fire and police departments, Homeland Security, Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office, Kansas State Firefighters Association, and the Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute from Kansas University.
Coursework and hands-on training are targeted to new firefighters and there are sessions to fulfill continuing education requirements for experienced firefighters. Courses included in the three-day training include: fire ground physics, landing zone, interior firefighting, and a live burn.
