LCC Encourages Students to Apply for Scholarships Before March 1 Priority Deadline

Parsons, KS – Labette Community College (LCC) is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. To receive priority consideration, students must submit their applications by March 1, 2025. Those who apply by this deadline will have the best opportunity for scholarship awards.

“The Foundation Scholarship Committee is committed to making higher education accessible and affordable by awarding hundreds of scholarships to deserving students,” said Lindi Forbes, Executive Director of the LCC Foundation and Alumni Association. “These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of individuals who believe in empowering students to achieve their dreams. This year alone, the LCC Foundation provided over $127,000 in scholarships, covering tuition, fees, and books.”
Institutional Scholarship Opportunities
LCC offers a variety of institutional scholarships to help students fund their education:
- Academic Scholarships – Based on GPA, available for high school and college students.
- Labette County Resident Scholarships – Covers tuition for up to 16 credit hours per semester for qualifying students.
- Cardinal Academic Scholarships – Available to in-state high school students outside of Labette County with a minimum 3.0 GPA, covering tuition for up to 16 credit hours per semester.
- Cardinal Pathway Scholarship – Covers tuition for up to 16 credit hours per semester for students from bordering states with a 3.5 GPA.
Additionally, LCC students pursuing business, science, technology, or teaching degrees may qualify for the M.L. (Lee) & Noretta Caldwell Scholarship, offered through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas. Applications for the Caldwell Scholarship are due March 31, 2025, and can be submitted at https://southeastkansas.org/students/scholarships/.
