After the All LCC presentations explaining Strategic Enrollment Management to the faculty and staff, employees volunteered to serve on the various subcommittees.
An initial Recruitment Subcommittee meeting was held in May to begin discussions. The subcommittee did meet a second time during the summer.
Some simple activities to help with SEM goal attainment were created for the start of the Fall 2021 semester, such as the “Ask Me – How Can I Help?” buttons for staff.
During the August 2021 inservice, the Recruitment Subcommittee met to begin brainstorming short-term and long-term activities to support the goals of the SEM Plan. The committee will narrow down the activities and begin to implement them in the next quarter.
The short-term and long-term activities were determined during the past quarter. They were as follows:
Increase LCC’s Presence
Develop social media content with approval of PR) – thought behind this is to brainstorm on some creative posts that would align with LCC’s brand that are timely
Break into the home-school student market
Research/learn more about the Native American Tribal benefits and how LCC build off of the resources available to this diverse population.
Begin asking all-campus for help on recruiting events that have scheduling conflicts on days when Melissa and Kylie are already scheduled to visit other places. (ie: P/T conferences, athletic events, special fairs)
Improve the deliberate communication with prospective students
Review current daily procedure in Admissions – look for issues or what can be added or changed.
Check into developing a virtual “campus tour” video
Work is being completed on the short-term and long-term activities.
Admissions Office focus has been on tribal initiatives
Met with Quapaw tribe in person. Discussed options
Invite tribes to Cardinal Connect or a specific event
Going to gather contact information on students who have indicated an affiliation with a tribe on the admission’s application
Follow up with those tribes that haven’t responded
Creating web page for resources for students.
