June 2023

  • Participated in All LCC Employee SEM Retreat in June 2023
  • Developed new activities for the next three years to support the overall goals of SEM
  • Department is working on New Student Orientation and Visit Days for Fall 2023

March 2023

  • Admissions staff has been on the road doing spring recruiting at high schools, college fairs, and career fairs
  • Continued work on reimagining Visit Days for the 2023-2024 academic year

December 2022

  • Had contact with 1,258 potential students during the Fall 2022 semester
  • 274% increase in contact cards from visits
  • Over 460 students signed up for the High School College Planning Conference on November 2nd, which will feature 37 universities and colleges.  Only 130 students attended last year.
  • Spring 2023 will focus on service area schools, schools with most contact cards, and schools with least contact cards
  • Visit Days are scheduled – Senior Day on February 23 and Junior Day on April 24
  • Asking committee to reimagine what visit days look like for the 2023-2024 academic year

September 2022

  • Focus on systematic approach to recruitment this year. 
  • Short term activities to increase LCC presence. 
  • Long term activities to improve the deliberate communication with perspective students.

June 2022

  • Admissions Office focus has been on tribal initiatives
    • Met with Quapaw tribe in person. Discussed options
    • Invite tribes to Cardinal Connect or a specific event
    • Going to gather contact information on students who have indicated an affiliation with a tribe on the admission’s application
    • Follow up with those tribes that haven’t responded
    • Creating web page for resources for students.
  • Admissions Staff attended high school award ceremonies in April and May
  • Personnel Changes in Admissions Office – new Director and new Recruiter. Looking at developing a Welcome Center area as well as systems for recruitment for Fall 2022

March 2022

  • Work is being completed on the short-term and long-term activities.

December 2021

  • The short-term and long-term activities were determined during the past quarter. They were as follows:
    • Increase LCC’s Presence
      • Develop social media content with approval of PR) – thought behind this is to brainstorm on some creative posts that would align with LCC’s brand that are timely
      • Break into the home-school student market
      • Research/learn more about the Native American Tribal benefits and how LCC build off of the resources available to this diverse population.
      • Begin asking all-campus for help on recruiting events that have scheduling conflicts on days when Melissa and Kylie are already scheduled to visit other places. (ie: P/T conferences, athletic events, special fairs)
    • Improve the deliberate communication with prospective students
      • Review current daily procedure in Admissions – look for issues or what can be added or changed.
      • Check into developing a virtual “campus tour” video

September 2021

  • During the August 2021 inservice, the Recruitment Subcommittee met to begin brainstorming short-term and long-term activities to support the goals of the SEM Plan. The committee will narrow down the activities and begin to implement them in the next quarter.

June 2021

  • After the All LCC presentations explaining Strategic Enrollment Management to the faculty and staff, employees volunteered to serve on the various subcommittees.
  • An initial Recruitment Subcommittee meeting was held in May to begin discussions. The subcommittee did meet a second time during the summer.
  • Some simple activities to help with SEM goal attainment were created for the start of the Fall 2021 semester, such as the “Ask Me – How Can I Help?” buttons for staff.
